I love the one on one conversation with Sarah. She is amazing and has a passion for getting people to their health goals. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. Tyler is awesome at getting me not just adjusted, but gave me techniques for my neck and back to be less tense.
Sarah is a wonderful coach and so helpful for where I am currently at in my life. I love how she listens to my needs and provides accurate direction. I'm glad to be back with Coach Sarah and can't wait to see my results and changes!
When I arrived this morning I had back pain from the sports I played the day before. Willie evaluated me and listened to what my concerns were and in real time designed a routine to help regain movement and reduce pain. I left the gym feeling significantly better and almost no pain. The staff all have high level skills and care about each person individually.
The staff always helps me adjust my workouts to the current need. I had a small surgery that created a need for physical therapy. I needed to get back to where I was prior to the surgery. Love everyone at Functional Effect.
I just started workout out at FE and my experience has been amazing so far. After struggling with a back injury for 5 months and making very little progress getting back to my active lifestyle with traditional chiropractic care, I’m finally starting to move and exercise without pain under the guidance of experienced trainers and movement specialists. My program is tailored to my needs and I’m enjoying the gym community. If you have pain and are struggling to get back to the activities you love, this is the place to be.
All of the fitness instructors are very knowledgeable and dedicated, they are very friendly and personable as well. The chiropractic care is great and very helpful.
I recently had the privilege of participating in a fitness/charity challenge at a Gym in Downers Grove called Functional Effect Fitness and Rehabilitation. (FE) The Owners/Coaches Tyler Reynolds and Sarah Fischer-Reynolds, take the time to meet with each participant individually to evaluate more than just their physical goals, but short-term/long-term overall health goals, including but not limited to, nutrition, and your specific “WHY”, with the intent to help you achieve said goals. Not only are the owners great motivators, they also explain what muscles you are using and why. (Coach Sarah) Very refreshing to know what you are doing and why, giving you the ability to receive the maximum benefit! They also have an amazing staff/group of Coaches, who are there to help guide you on your journey, be it weekly motivational emails (Coach AZ), gentle reminders to correct your form, (Coach Andrew), or being the best team Coach ever (Coach Jodie) just to name a few! I look forward to the next (FE) challenge, and encourage anyone who is looking for a fresh approach to “The Gym” to give these guys a look!
Started a 6 week challenge here a few weeks ago. Great team of coaches! They only want you to succeed. They guide you all the way to do what you are capable of and build your workout from there. Everyone there has been wonderful!
I've been off and on with Functional Effect for almost 2 years now. I have always been the type to think eating less would create weight loss and that the next gym had something better to offer. Boy - was I wrong! I rejoined FE in October 2016 and was determined to stick with the program and nutrition program. I was committed to knocking down all barriers this time and giving it 110%. In 2.5 months, I have lost 5 pounds, gained 1.1 pounds of muscle and lost over 3% body fat. My shoulders and back are defined and my stomach is ALMOST flat! I still eat pizza, nachos and drink alcohol but I have learned to do it all in moderation. I allow myself a cheat meal (sometimes 2) weekly but have learned not to over indulge. The workouts and nutrition plan are customized for me and my activity level. Results do not happen overnight but if you follow the path, the results will happen.
This gym offers the personalization and attention to help anyone meet their fitness goals. The focus on exercise and nutrition is better than any gym I've been a part of, and has given me, and so many others, the tools necessary to achieve success! Never bored, always challenged, that sums up the workouts here! I love it and feel like I've finally found a great home!
